Adopt-A-Wish®

The Adopt-A-Wish program gives individuals, businesses, organizations, and other enthusiastic groups of people the opportunity to underwrite the entire cost of a wish. As the average cost of a wish is $6,000, participants in the Adopt-A-Wish program agree to raise the complete amount, thus making a very special child’s wish come true! While at first it may seem an overwhelming goal, Adopt-A-Wish participants find that once the fundraising begins, it’s incredibly easy to raise the support. And knowing the positive difference they are making in the lives of children makes their efforts all the more worthwhile!

Often times, donors select the wish they would like to adopt. Some donors sponsor wishes within their community. Others sponsor particular kinds of wishes. In example, a computer company sponsors a child’s wish to have their very own laptop computer.

Organizations contributing to an Adopt-A-Wish will, in most cases, receive a picture and wish story about the child they have adopted.

Get the community involved! Many businesses and organizations have found ways to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota with the support of friends in the neighborhood. Here are some ideas:

  • Hold a tournament of your favorite sport: golf, softball, bowling.
  • Host an evening affair: black tie dinner, comedy night, poker night.
  • Use your hobby: Bake Sales, Craft Shows, Quilt Shows.
  • Help us sell cloud cutouts. We supply you with the cutouts, you sell them for a dollar or two, and then you can proudly display them in your establishment!
  • Coordinate a car wash, a penny war, raffle, or auction.
