There are many fun and exciting ways to volunteer and get involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota. Join us with your family, friends or co-workers to share the power of a wish®!
How can I help?
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota has a great volunteer opportunity this holiday season, and we need your help! Stories of Light is a fundraising event that will run from November 28 through December 21 at Mall of America. We hope to make this holiday season extra special for 50 Minnesota children. To share these wishes with the community, holiday trees representing each heartfelt wish will be displayed near Santa at Nickelodeon Universe and will contain information about all participating wish children. We need outgoing volunteers at all times to staff the event, which includes selling merchandise, answering questions, distributing information about our organization, and encouraging donations to sponsor the wishes of Minnesota children battling life-threatening medical conditions. The shifts and minimum number of volunteers needed are listed below:
Mondays-Thursdays:
10:00 am - 1:00 pm (4 volunteers)
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (5 volunteers)
5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (6 volunteers)
Fridays & Saturdays:
10:00 am - 2:00 pm (6 volunteers)
2:00 pm - 6:00 pm (6 volunteers)
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm (6 volunteers)
Sundays:
10:30 am - 3:00 pm (6 volunteers)
3:00 pm - 7:30 pm (6 volunteers)
A Make-A-Wish® representative will be present at all times to answer questions. Individuals, families, and other groups of up to 10 people per shift are encouraged to volunteer. Groups adopting an entire day commit to filling every shift but can break down the times differently than what is listed here.
With over 72 four-hour shifts to fill, we have a time slot to fit your schedule. This is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and remember whom the season is really for: the children.
