Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota
Types of Volunteers: Wish Granting

Volunteers are an integral part of fulfilling wishes. The wish granting process starts by meeting a child and helping him/her determine a heartfelt wish, and then making it come true. Wish granting volunteers usually work in teams of two to plan and fulfill each wish by using resources wisely and seeking donated goods and services for each wish. The volunteer "wish team" has the opportunity to make the wish as unique as each child. As a wish granter, you meet the family and the child, help them determine the wish and act as liaison between the family and the Foundation. The nature of each child's wish determines the level of the wish granter's involvement. This volunteer position is best suited for volunteers over the age of 18 with creative energy and resourcefulness. We have special training sessions for our wish granting volunteers that last approximately 5 hours. We also partner our wish granters up with experienced volunteers to begin the process. Wish Granters should live in Minnesota year-round due to the unpredictable length of the wish process.

Upcoming 2009 Wish Granter Training Dates:
